The city of Opatija, known for its stunning coastline and a long tradition of tourism, was not just a host to tourists this year. On Friday, September 15, 2023, the Opatija Summer Stage became the venue for a special event - a charity concert titled "Life Has No Price - Bina Istra and Partners Humanitarian Action."
In celebration of closing the financial structure and commencing construction for the sub-phase 2B2-2 (Matulji Učka section) and 2B2-3 (Mirna and Limska Draga Viaducts), which will complete the Istrian A8 and A9 highway network in full profile, eventually connecting the Matulji interchange to the Rijeka bypass and the Croatian motorway network, the organizer of this significant event, Bina Istra, decided that this moment should not only be recognized as an engineering achievement but also as an opportunity for a humanitarian cause.
The musical part of the program featured performances by some of the most renowned Croatian artists, including Severina, Maja Šuput, and the Enjoy band, whose energetic performances got everyone on their feet dancing.
The funds raised during and after the concert were earmarked for the purchase of medical equipment and devices for the pediatric departments of the KBC Zagreb and KBC Rijeka hospitals. This donation aims to ensure continuous access to top-notch medical care for children, using advanced medical technologies to improve the quality of treatment and outcomes for young patients.
Furthermore, the funds will also be used to acquire a delivery vehicle for the distribution of humanitarian aid to the "Mali Zmaj" association in Zagreb. This organization supports 500 children in need and their families, providing them with assistance and support when they need it the most.
This event served as another reminder of the importance of unity and solidarity, and we, as a Chamber, were truly honored to be a part of such a wonderful and selfless initiative.
By supporting children facing medical challenges and families in need, Bina Istra and its partners have shown that life indeed cannot be measured in money, but we can do much to make it better for everyone.
